OUR CONCEPT
Circulate the kimonos in your wardrobe
There are probably many people who say, ``I have a kimono that I no longer wear, but I don't know what to do with it.'' Kimono is a traditional Japanese craft that was once created by craftsmen. Nowadays, wonderful kimonos and obi obis are hidden in drawers all over Japan.
If there are no creators of the many traditional crafts that Japan is proud of, then of course new products will not be created. However, not only is there a shortage of successors for kimono craftsmen, wages are low, and jobs are decreasing, but many production areas are going out of business. No matter how much you regret it later, no one will be able to make the same thing.
What we can do before that happens. The idea is to revive kimonos that can no longer be worn by craftsmen and pass them on to people who want to wear them. That is our mission at wake up kimono.
APPROACH
Wake up kimono's efforts to increase the value of kimono in your wardrobe
Some of the kimonos lying in the drawers have been poorly stored and are not in good condition.
At wake up kimono, we are working to ensure that all the kimonos lying in the drawer come back to life, be loved by new owners, and write a new history.
-
Kimono collection from all over the country
Giving out your kimono is the first step towards creating a kimono recycling society. It's okay in any situation. We act as a bridge to deliver precious kimonos to people who want to wear them.
-
Maintenance by craftsmen
Using wonderful traditional crafts and craftsmanship techniques from all over Japan, we breathe new life into the kimonos you receive.
-
Coordination suggestions by a first-class kimono dressing technician
We offer coordination suggestions that can be enjoyed in everyday life so that the kimono that is in the hands of our users does not end up in the drawer again.
SUSTAINABILITY
A sustainable society created by the kimono circulation model
A "kimono circulation model" that connects kimonos that are no longer worn, craftsmen, and users. We believe that this can solve various social problems. Utilizing kimonos that are no longer worn reduces CO2 emissions, preserves traditional culture through the active participation of craftsmen, and incorporates kimonos into daily life, which increases self-esteem and contributes to improved happiness and international ability. We contribute to society with kimonos and make people happy.
- Creating environmentally friendly products
-
Material procurement that contributes to reducing waste
Wake up kimono's products are all made from kimonos that are no longer worn. We contribute to reducing CO2 emissions by taking care of the clothes we already have and wearing them for a long time.
- Inheritance of social tradition and culture
-
Manufactured in partnership with kimono artisans
By partnering with kimono craftsmen who are facing problems such as a lack of successors or a decrease in work, we will provide opportunities for them to flourish.
- Development of economic kimono industry
-
A service that communicates the charm of kimono
In addition to sales, wake up kimono also offers coordination suggestions that will help you make the most of your existing kimono and obi, as well as consultations on maintenance.
